How the challenge works

  1. Every night with 2+ games there are three boards: Points, Goalies, and the category of the night (goals, assists, shots, hits or blocks — a surprise, announced when the slate opens).
  2. Pick 3 forwards and 2 defensemen under a $35.0M cap for each skater board, and 2 goalies under $15.0M. Prices are real cap hits, the same on every board, so one squad can serve both skater boards.
  3. Everything locks at the first puck drop. No entries or changes after it. Squads stay hidden until then and are revealed at the lock. You can build tonight or the next two slate nights.
  4. Boards run live during the games and are unofficial until the 3 AM Central settle on the official box scores. Same total, the cheaper squad wins. A scratched player scores zero.
  5. The league runs Monday to Sunday. Enter any night and you are in. Each board pays 10-8-6-5-4-3-2 for 1st to 7th and 1 for everyone else who entered, so a night is worth up to 30. Ties: most board wins, then fewest dollars spent.
  6. Free. No prizes, no entry fees, bragging rights only.
